: It's able to be read pointedly, but it's also not a wrong analysis of
: modern social media in general.
: How should it be read? What are you accomplishing by responding to
: Leviathan with a cynical interpretation of his motives?
His post title - stroppy and insulting.
His obsession with negaivity when the thread wasn't negative. Grizlei has the right to not like the blank slate. I like it but I'm not going to quit the internet over her 'negativity' just because I disagree with her. If she wants to express her opinion strongly... that's OK with me. I'm not going to call her the cause of the Internet's problems.
I thought that Bungie had been dicks. Quirel said, these things happen in creative enterprises. I didn't have a problem with that.
: And these
: questions stand even if you're right , don't they? Because at the end of
: the day, the big issue that Leviathan is complaining about is that
: discussions constantly veer toward vilification instead of, well, anything
: else.
Nevermind talk about blank slate characters - it occupied most of the thread. I would say that the thread veered away from vilification not towards it. The contents of the podcast was a shock, though we knew that Bungie didn't like the EU - Reach made that clear but Bungie had already said as much long before. The shock was that Jason Jones and Alex, apparently, tried to back out of an agreement. That is at least worthy of comment. You didn't see post after post of Bungie hating.
: Part of the problem is that it's difficult to even speak out against it
: without becoming embroiled in it, as this little back-and-forth
: exemplifies.
: Doesn't that kind of suck? Wouldn't it be nice if things weren't like that?
Levi was the only one (that I saw) who made an attack on the people posting here. That rarely ends well. Our posts were on-topic and cordial.
