Glad to see someone in this thread gets the idea. It sounds like Morhek and Grizzlei would rather read a book/watch a movie than play an interactive game.
I hate it when I get to control a clearly defined character. Then it's like, why am I even here? Why can I influence the actions of this character who clearly has a mind of their own as soon as I don't get to control him/her?
Sort of like playing Halo 4 felt. The chatty, dramatic, unstable, insubordinate Chief I'm playing is clearly not the same person I was when I saved the world from those insane Prophets, and now he clearly has some issues of his own he wants to take care off, and I don't have a choice but to go with him.
