The problem I have with mechs is you typically get this big rise in height which brings vulnerability and less sneakiness, and the ability to be shot at from further away, but you don't gain any sort of extra toughness. Your Gundams and MechWarriors and whatever always portray mechs as tougher than everything else when you'd think they'd just be bigger targets…
