Just to be clear to hunt3r, I wasn't actually blaming any one group for this issue, or at least, I didn't mean to. I only brought up the creators bit because that's the perspective I'm coming from. I've had to draw sexy women before for different projects, which isn't always that big of deal, but I've also watched a design I did go from interesting and creative to stupid and slutty under the employer's wishes. And I felt bad. So for my own characters, whether they be male or female, pretty or ugly, I'm going to try my best to make them human and not there to capitalize on some animal urges in my audience.
Which definitely sells, I agree, but I also believe quality art and stories sell, too. You just have to work harder, perhaps. It's probably one of the craziest things I believe in: that commercial art doesn't have to compromise itself. And I'll die broke and homeless under an overpass still believing that.
