I understand they wanted to tease us, but that's all this is. The elements all serve the effect of "surprising" us, without serving anything else, like realism. This teaser does nothing for me. It's the first Halo promo I've disliked.
The cloak feels like a cheap trick by the end. I don't buy the sand in cracks argument. The guy's wearing a space suit. He can ride a bomb through the vacuum of space. He's got a shield powered by alien technology. He can survive a fall from the atmosphere, but the desert presents a problem?
And hey, a giant Forerunner just exploded out of the ground in front of me, so let me stare pensively at my empty USB drive.
The hood blows back. Apparently, John is a nevernude. Sorry, but that's the vibe I got.
At least he's not wearing denim cutoffs, you say. Yeah, as far as we know.
