No, you're right- It's a terrible idea.
: Not to mention that the "get rewarded for the damage you do" option
: would actually likely be the WORST experience, as it almost completely
: eliminates any of the tension/risk/excitement from the encounter,
: especially the later in the game you go. If you knew all you needed to do
: was to "50% damage" for example to clinch the game, the fun in
: many ways evaporates from that encounter. That's my opinion at least. I
: mean, I don't like getting legendary boss kills yoinked from my team
: either, but I'd be lying if it didn't create some crazy exciting/stressful
