I wouldn't call it dumb, but you make a good point that there are long sight lines that we can't cover and this would allow those people to still get there 1-2 points for that final bit of damage. Then it becomes a trade off of shooting the enemy or just trying to get the damage points, where as now, shooting the enemy is more important.

I still don't think they would change it, I hope they tested with different scoring ideas but this could of worked. I wouldn't want it to work 2 different ways though, and I see peoples issue with it.
