…It's Continuing Mission… *PIC*

Some believe, if there is no true detailed backstory behind the original Myths, there is no purpose to going on… that our “mission” to uncover the true story of Myth has been all for naught and fruitless.

Our goal was to find out what the truth is. We figured there was some entold story behind it, somewhere written down and kept under lock and key, but we now know that is not true. We never figured we’d actually gain access to this Holy Grail for which we most ardently sought, but only reviewed and shared our findings, seeing if we could all agree on a common and acceptable solution. We did this many times, though only rarely have we actually come to terms, often because there were some barriers hindering us; but in reality, there were not. These barriers revolved around whatever “Bungie thinks” and trying to determine that rather than determining the most probable scenario to explain the likelihood of the truth.

Gleaning for the story that never was, blinded by the prospect of eternally tantalizing ourselves by searching for nothing we ever hoped to eventually attain (at least the less über-optomistic of us), we have striven this far…only to seemingly be thwarted. We have not been, I tell you. We have opened a door, found a way to something better, more profound, more peaceful and interesting.

Our “mission”, as it were, can’t end. Most didn’t even believe that our theorizing was any more than creative writing anyway when embarking to be a member of this Asylum, rather than research-based. It will continue as long as Myth does, our research and knowledge passing down to the next generation of Mythographers, just as Antero to humanity. We will move onto other things in our lives, living on in the accomplishments we make here, just as the comet passes from the sky, only to return reborn from its phoenician ashes, the cycle never ending as forever will more come to learn about this story, and become trapped in its holes, wanting to repair them as well as polish off its exterior, and discover what is within.

Though Antero was lucky enough to gain permission to learn from the Trow themselves, the very personification of history, we may never have any such luxury. In reality, there is no Trow to give us insight, for they never actually existed. We must strive on without them, finding our way through the murky chaos, building the truth as we discover it, innovating ourselves as any great species desires to do.

Though we may never see the final light of all our culminations, our interests passing on, we can rest assured that we have lived on in those accomplishments, perhaps some day a scholar of sorts stumbling upon our relics, translating them from the muralic walls (like Myth III), rebuilding our scenarios and developing us into a true thing again, and then we will be there.
