Unless the peeps at bungie had truly superhuma knowledge of mythology and history, I dont see how their notes could only be a few pages long. All of the Bezerk names come out of Norse Mythology, Herons/Jmen are named in Mayan fasion, Wyrd and Nyx are Norse and Greek gods respectively, Cu Roi was a sorcerer in Celtic mythology, Alric was a legendary visigoth king who sacked Rome, the fir'bolg were a legendary race which invaded Ireland, Balor was the king of said fir'bolg, the list goes on and on. In fact nearly every name, race, and god come strait out of mythology and history from all over the world.
