: I spent a few minutes pondering the implication of a
: guideline like "small children who save the world
: are me". That last word must be 'lame', right?
: Otherwise, I COMPLETELY missed the point of the Myth
: series. ;-)

Ah, yes it is. I must have done that during copying…

: You don't have to be Andrew Meggs to know that MJ CAN
: change the story however they want.

Rather, they *may* change it anyway they wish.

: (Look what Tim
: Burton did to Planet of the Apes!) All this talk about
: having the 'right' to do it seems misplaced and
: irrelevant. Nothing that MJ comes out with is going to
: shine any light on the mysteries hinted at in Myth and
: Myth II as understood in themselves.

That's just the thing. There *wasn't* anything hinted at in TFL or M2, short of the basic implications, primarily just meant to be curious and confusing, but not indicating any real story behind it.

: Like the sequel
: to Gone With the Wind that was written by someone
: else. You can't take information from that and go back
: and analyze the original.

The difference is, this is a prequel. Myth III is going to explain some things we see in TFL and M2, which we should take as canon as readily as the epilogue to Myth II relating to TFL. However, I am an advocate of every story being unique and individual. Contradictions happen because of different perspectives of the same conceptual story, like alternate realities.

: There is more going on in Myth TFL and Myth II than is
: revealed plainly to you as a player, so it's not out
: of the question to try to formulate the most
: consistent theory about the parts of the story for
: which you do not fully observe.

That's absolutely right. It's a shame they don't actually have a given meaning, imo…

: While the story told
: by Myth III will be one resolution of the things it
: resolves it won't be telling for Myth TFL or Myth II.

Right, the same that Myth II can't change things in TFL, or vice versa.

: Myth III will rely on TFL and II; TFL and II do not rely
: on III.

I may be inclined to agree since Myth III is taken from those two sources. It relies on them to make its own story, from their original, sketchy details. What happens in Myth III is a naturally a part of Myth I and II, not the other way around.
