[I don't follow you at the end of this paragraph. Contradictions are mistakes, and human beings make mistakes. That's fine. I don't think there being contradictions is a fatal problem necessarily. I don't like to use the term 'canon', because it never fails to increase the confusion in a discussion rather than decrease it.]
It doesn't matter that it's a prequel. I don't see any reason that Myth III is anything but a possible story of what happened in the Wolf Age. If M3 tells us who The Head is, as has been rumored, then that doesn't mean that if you go back and play Myth TFL, you have to/ought to think to yourself "I know who The Head REALLY is, because I've seen Myth III". It's the difference between turning to the last page of a book and turning to another book by another author altogether. [I leave open the possibility that you CAN say to yourself you know who The Head is having learned the information from M3, but of course, you can say to yourself that The Head is your grandfather, or Balor reincarnated, or Cliff from Cheers.]
Information revealed in Myth III cannot penetrate TFL or II.
