The first time seeing Halo played was on Assault on the Control Room. My friend was getting his butt kicked by the gold Elite on the first bridge. This is an image that has stuck with me. I subsequently got to play Pillar of Autumn, and got lost in the access corridors, struggling to master twin-stick controls.
The music, the visuals, the mysteries of the story, the comedic combat dialogue of the Grunts...I was hooked.
I discovered Red vs Blue either through this venerable site itself, or something called "thatweasel". Rooster Teeth and HBO have been important to me right alongside Halo for a long time. Sometimes I get Halo Fatigue, but I always come back to it. It always continues to fascinate me.
The stars have never seemed so many, never burned brighter. Never branded my eyes as they do now.
