I liked it. Probably my favorite Halo book this year so far. I found the writing a lot better than Hunters in the Dark, and enjoyed the way it didn't try to hype itself up as some big galactic story for a change. Even though the book was slow at times I appreciated the little moments with the characters. The interactions between the main cast were very enjoyable.

I'm glad to see the Spartan-IIIs being given some love too, and I hope this isn't the last we see of them. They've certainly been neglected for far too long for no good reason. If there will be sequels to this (I hope there will) I wouldn't mind the same author returning.
