The Covenant-bannered landscape post-Prophets is a complicated and grey one for sure, with plenty of stakeholders vying for control of the empire's empty "throne" so to speak. While plenty of members were content to split off and go their separate ways, many Sangheili leaders felt it far more advantageous and prudent to try and remake the Covenant in their own image. Remember, this is the only life most of them have ever known and many reached the conclusion that with the Prophets meddling and manipulation, the Sangheili could accept the gifts and power they believed they'd earned. It actually makes a whole lot of sense.

But yeah, stop trying to make "The Storm" happen. It's not going to happen.
