: My compliments on any contributions you may have had. I'll have to hug you to
: death if you were responsible for the Autumn-class cruiser naming.
The contributions were many but scattered about. Most pages had some input by me just like in the first guide. It was mostly content-complete when I first saw it in February though. I helped with some spelling, grammar, Halo canonical fact-checking, and adding info where it made sense or needed it. I also got to put a couple of Easter Eggs in it. Some obvious, some meaningful to me and friends. My proudest is of course a ship. I'll let you ponder which, but Deep NNN here will likely know what I'm hinting at since he lives in the same region of Canada.
For the Autumn-class, in a sense, yes. I'll explain so you can justify whether to follow through with that hug.
There was some uncertainty about classifying it differently from the Reach and Anniversary cruiser' look (as opposed to the Halo: Combat evolved look). Should the new one be Halcyon or was it different enough to be its own class. The differences warranted a change as did some story aspects. 343i chose Autumn-class when we discussed it. I helped refine it that it's first ship is the UNSC Pillar of Autumn II, but it's colloquially referred to as the Autumn-class because it's cumbersome to say Pillar of Autumn II-class. :)
In my head, the Pillar of Autumn still looks the same shape as the cruiser from Halo 1, even in Reach and Anniversary. Halo 4 (well, the FUD show) depicts a new cruiser to emerge from that legacy.
