Re: There is a reason people are doubtful
I am not against this feature at all. I am just trying to understand what it was. I would be against it had it only been a super demo. I love what it was actually going to be. I'm just trying to understand the logic behind it from a "Worst case scenario" point of view. It just makes no sense to put so many restrictions on games (You can only sell them 1 time, and then the person is stuck with it) just to implement a system that allows 10 of your online friends to play the game. I know it's not at the same time, but still. 10 friends can play that 1 game, with potentially more being added to your list later down the road. It just seems worse than used games from the perspective of the company. Maybe I'm just not seeing something blatantly obvious, but they didn't do a great job explaining the feature and if it had ANY restrictions other than the 1 person at a time rule. Besides, I don't mean that you have Jeff play the game Monday, you Tuesday, etc. I mean that if you buy Mirrors Edge 2 and then finish it, you could then add Jeff to your Family and let him finish it, then add a secondpperson and let them finish it, then another and another. Just repeat the process until all 10 people have finished the game. Now 10 people have finished the game for the price of 1 disk. I know EVERYONE won't have the time to set this kind of thing up, but it's a heck of a lot better to wait until your friend has finished the game so that you can play it for free instead of paying $60 to buy it at launch or paying to buy it used from them. The whole system doesn't make sense form the perspective of a company that wants to make money off of it.
