When members of the dev team publicly state on Twitter that the rumors are false, I believe the rumors are false. There's a huge difference between "no comment" and "this is not true". If there had been no comment by Microsoft about the rumor, I think you'd be justified in holding that the rumor MIGHT be true. Once they flat-out deny it (in terms that brook no 'interpretation' beyond literal fact), you're moving into conspiracy craziness by suggesting the rumor might still have validity.
My opinion, of course.
