... Alright, last point was more of a gag point. Honestly, though, there's something else I forgot in it. Something more to justify retcons from work to work.

- Canon is wholly broad strokes. There are no absolutes, and every tale is a version of how things were thought to be run at times. Every tale is its' own report, so to speak, on what happened on some place, but with the scribe either not knowing the full details, or neglecting to mention them.

- Similar to how we know we assume some things about history but learn others with recent discoveries, initial records of the Forerunner made people think they were noble beings instead of the hypocritical and neglectful bearers of the Mantle they turned out to be.
