I want to think this so bad, since that's the impression I was given in Halo 3. But this one has been overwritten by more recent fiction. :(

Also something that I got as a first impression for whatever reason, the Flood pure forms in Halo 3 were literally spawn from the very walls of the hive. No evidence for that of course, but I think it fit into the Flood mentality well, and it certainly made me feel even more vulnerable when I first played, thinking that they could pop out literally anywhere.

I would add to this that that's what enables ODST's to jump so high (from street level to the roof of a car) and survive such long falls. It has similar technology implemented, which was a direct result of research done on MJOLNIR.

I guess I always thought that the weapon crates you find them in actually recharge the weapons. If Chief would just think to place them back when he was done...

Also just thought:
- The smart-link fiber optic cable was necessary for older variations of Mjolnir, but was made obsolete by wireless linking in later suits.

- SOEIVs have inertial dampening fields to keep the occupants from turning into jelly upon impact.
