Remember, Ridley Scott was Executive Producer, not director.
Perhaps that's what you meant by "Ridley Scott's team", but it feels like a lot of the community (including myself initially) put a whole lot of high expectation on this because it was tied to Scott's name.
He would have still been bound by the funding, and may have done his best in that limitation, building a good team and set of resources, but Scott didn't make the film... In many ways, I wish he did, and with a higher budget =/
