Broken is an awfully strong word. It's not like an MCC disc is a $60 coaster. Campaign, customs, and forge have worked without issue for me since day one. Matchmaking is largely fixed, with the exception of an occasional, non end-of-the-world hiccup. Given the speed with which 343 has been issuing patches, I have every expectation that everything will be great by the end of the year. This isn't like buying a dead-on-arrival microwave. The game works...it just took a few short weeks to do so. It would have been nice if 343 had met their deadline, but I really don't feel like a brief delay is such a hardship. (Incidentally, it sounds like you waited a similar amount of time for the replacement Ghost in a Shell DVD as we've waited for matchmaking to be fixed...so how is that so different?)

I agree that wasting time is no picnic. But if the game is frustrating as-is, is it really so hard to take a deep breath and put the controller down for a couple weeks? Sitting down every night trying to play a game you know is going to frustrate you seems like the ultimate waste of time to me. I didn't touch matchmaking until I heard that it was worth trying, and I've had a great experience because of it.
