: MCC owners to receive a free month of live, ODST, and more H2A maps.
I won't turn down these cool gifts, but this whole idea of compensation because the game didn't work for a few weeks seems insane to me. Granted, I only dabble in matchmaking, and the campaign and new story content was what I was really interested in. But even if the H2A campaign was completely unplayable for the first couple weeks after I got it, it would be mildly inconvenient, but I wouldn't think I "earned" a whole other game (and then some) because I had to wait a little bit longer.
I've looked at the Waypoint forums a few times over the past month, and it's shocking. People are uninstalling and redownloading the MCC daily, spending hours on the phone with customer support, and generally freaking out over every miniscule inconvenience they encountered. Why is 343 rewarding this obsessive, destructive behavior? Go outside, read a book, whatever. Why does the game have to own people's lives?
It was unfortunate that matchmaking didn't work right away, but 343 said they would fix it, and they did. There's really no reason for this free content.
