Are you asking \ answering your own question?

I read that it is only for those that bought from launch to today.

I only asked if the game is worth playing at this point -as in, is it fixed yet?

If it still doesn't work as it should yet, the promise of more content down the line doesn't seem like much to me if they can't get the current stuff to a state of consistency.
