It's not so much subjective as it is a statement of fact that went unsupported. I like how it cuts through a lot of the... other stuff, though.

On a basic level, sure she can. Consciousness is a process, in both humans and AI. In a human, when that process ends, it's usually considered death. There are caveats like resuscitation and suspended animation, which I want to toss out as not relevant and arguably a form of dying and coming back, but Halo has suspended animation as a very real thing, so I don't know.
