Their established character leaves 343i with nowhere to go except to forgot what they said and give them another character.

We were told that they are genetically-lobotomized, human cavemen/women/children who have been kidnapped and downloaded into robot bodies and forced to hang around Requiem for 100,000 years and then be press-ganged into fighting humans.

How on earth do you emote that in a first person shooter? Do they moan like HL2 headcrab zombies? Talk like Marvin the Paranoid Android? "Here's me - brain the size of a pea... kidnapped by aliens - forced to fight humans in a robot body - boy I'm depressed."

Who would want to listen to that over multiple hours of gameplay?

: And give us more classes of them! It seems crazy that Halo 1 had Grunts,
: Jackals, Hunters, Elites + Ghosts, Banshees and Wraiths (not to mention
: the flood), and the Prometheans only had Knights, Watchers and Crawlers -
: that's it.

The best way to sort that out is to bin them: a mercy killing - don't throw good money after bad. Just say that they died with Requiem and the Didact's ship. If we must fight Prometheans then give us the original, Forerunner, articles to fight.
