That statement is accurate too if you refer to the fact correctly. The average female salary is indeed about 75% of the average male salary. This does not mean there is no equal pay for equal work however, because that stat looks across the entire population and a wide variety of jobs. Women tend to choose work that pays less, entail fewer hours, take more time off for family, so naturally the average salary is lower. The question remains why women make those choices.
