The term "cash grab" is usually used implying a relative exclusion of other major goals beyond cash-grabbing. That is, recognizing that Halo 2 was developed by people who very strongly cared about a successor product to Halo 1 makes Halo 2 less of a "cash grab" by the usually definition.

Personally I hate the term, because I think it's very difficult to reliably apply accurately, but you are just arguing linguistics here.
