: Obviously a lot of questions that may or may not be answered come E3.
To me, there seems to be a lot more questions without easy answers that need to be addressed by whoever is working on this.
What kind of graphical update are they doing? Will it ruin the beautiful simplicity of the game?
Do you update mechanics that may or may not be considered to be broken? Do you reduce plasma pistol homing (I say yes)? Do you get rid of BXR and/or double shotting (harder to answer)?
Do you reduce the bullet magnetism to account for the massive improvements in netcode since Halo 2 was released?
Do you add alternate map weapon sets to address some of the limitations that existed in the original game, or an actual full blown Forge feature?
Do you fix superbouncing?
Is multiplayer going to built around SMG starts or BR starts? Most of Halo 2's matchmaking originally revolved around SMG starts. I don't know about other people, but that's not where my fond Halo 2 memories come from.
Do you change weapon spawning? Halo 2 introduced the concept of holding weapons and not allowing them to respawn. This has been altered significantly in subsequent games, probably for the better.
Gametypes: stick with the originals, or add new ones (say what you want about Halo 4, but Extraction and Team Regicide are pretty cool)? What about adding additional options?
Taking these difficult questions into a account, I think that rather than remaking Halo 2's multiplayer, the best option would be to create a "definitive" Halo multiplayer. Start with Halo 2's maps and mechanics (movement speed, weapon switching speed), add in an Assault Rifle and DMR, and go from there. Loadouts and armor abilities can probably be left out. For that, I would buy an Xbox One.
Seems pretty unlikely to happen though.
