The problem: If 343 were to release a H2:Anniversary that nailed multiplayer in a H2-like fashion, what would that mean for H5? It would be a disaster to revert to a H4-like model a year after pleasing fans with H2. Revolt. A split userbase. Dogs sleeping with cats.
So what if they did this:
Part 1 (the appetizer): What if -- as Spencer (kinda) hints -- H2: Anniversary came out in 2014 with a really solid multiplayer engine that nails the H2 experience ?
Part 2 (the dessert): What if Halo 5 (2015/16) used that same engine as the basis for Halo 5 multiplayer?
I think this would make so much sense and is the best of all possible worlds:
End result, a better MP experience that fans would love, a product that makes Microsoft money, and differentiates itself in a market that tires of COD mimickry.
The risk of course is that I have doubts that we'd see a 'pure' H2 multiplayer experience. 10 years have passed and they aren't simply going to undo 10 years of coding, development, and change. But, as Spencer acknowledged, they have to nail it. IMO 'Nail it' would mean use get damn close to the H2 core.
And once you've nailed it, don't drastically switch it up for H5.
