: The ever wonderful Microsoft Studios corporate VP Phil Spencer, who you may
: otherwise know as Mr. Two Watches, has now come out with a particularly
: wonderful quotes in regards to us, the Xbox 360 owners who are potential
: customers for the Xbox One.
: ""The super core guys, they will buy everything. They will buy all
: devices, but most people really only do buy one device, and if you're
: going to think about what that one device is, we believe an all-in-one
: system that does the best games and TV and entertainment will be something
: that's really unique."
: ""We believe that if all you want is gaming, you'll still pick us,
: at the end of the day."
: Right now, I'm wearing my not surprised face, since I already alluded to a
: suspicion that MS are repeating Sony's mistake in thinking themselves now
: invincible.
My reaction to that is quite the opposite of yours. Every time I log in to Live, nearly a third (or even more) of my Halo gamer friends are using the 360 for TV and movies. MS is making a brilliant move with XB1 and now they just have to get current customers to remove their tin hats and realize it is the ONE system for them as gamers and consumers of other multimedia content.
Gamers are shitting themselves with negativity over the XB1 but come E3, I expect they'll be shitting dollars for MS.
MS may be a juggernaut and suffers the problems of juggernauts but I think this quote can describe MS' ability to slowly turn consumers to their products. Sometimes it takes patience and iteration. "Though the mills of God grind slowly, yet they grind exceeding small; Though with patience He stands waiting, with exactness grinds He all."
