They could have shown us the crew, and our heroes, showing some fear and uncertainty about how long the slipspace jump will take. You know something like:

Nav Crew Guy: We're in an uncontrolled slipspace jump ma'am! If these readings are right… I… I don't know where we're going…

Miranda Keyes: (softly) …or when we'll get there.

Instead we pop out the other side of the portal with everyone in their pelicans ready to go.
