Well, for me, it was heartbreaking in a cheesy way. Didact doesn't seem to be even trying to kill Master Chief until the very end, but then is stopped by Cortana, might just be me, but come on, Cortana's "In that case, you won't mind if we return the favor" and "I'm not doing this for mankind" were just cheesy.
What? Is this a love story or something? Sure it could be a partnership, even a friendship, but then Cortana touches Chief's chest, as if they were about to kiss...Plus she's almost as tall as Master Chief in what looks to be some sort of simulation Cortana created herself. Cheesy in my opinion. But with the story 343 wrote, it was the ending to show Chief's sadness. But it is a great setup for the Reclaimer trilogy nonetheless. However, they could've wrote the story differently for a different ending.
