No, that's making a conscious decision to be aware of another person's feelings or the general atmosphere of a situation and adapt your social skills accordingly. You said that you don't care about another person's feelings when you're talking. That's fine, it's your provolone. Still doesn't mean you shouldn't be decent and respectful from the get go. Political correctness does not infringe on your right to say whatever you please in a social setting. Like at all. Otherwise I could sue a million people who throw sexist and queerphobic comments my way. What it does is encourage people to think about what they say and be mindful of others professionally and socially.
