Buddy, I only ever use my phone (although in this instance, I am using a computer). Here and elsewhere. I don't have a fully-functioning computer at home, so everything that I do has to be done by phone, or during my spare time at work (it's why I haven't been able to finish my SSD contest writeup). And my phone doesn't consistently make me look like I have second-grade literacy. Turn spellcheck back on. It's clearly more harm than good to have it off. But if you want to type like you do because you're scared of Spellcheck, then that's your portobello.
