: There's also Pete Dodd who confirmed immediately that the Titanfall console
: did exist, but MS decided not to release it because of cost. Again, it
: shows that you haven't read the posts by the leaker and don't understand
: the context.
You'd be wrong about what I've read. I followed a lot of it on GAF and twitter.
The dodd character I've followed before and I'd characterize him as unreliable, attention seeking and a bit of a dope. Each time his garbage comes under fire he says the same stuff like, I am only trying to help, why are people picking on me, I'm taking a month off from the Internet. He then proceeds to re-engage on similar issues. Many Gaffers think of him as moronic.
Here is The Verge article.
Quote: "Microsoft is preparing to release its first major Xbox One dashboard update in March. Sources familiar with the plans have revealed to The Verge that the update will focus on fixing a number of issues with the Xbox Live service on the console, alongside other system fixes. Party-chat problems and issues with the usability and placement of social features of Xbox Live will be improved with the update. The update timing was first revealed by a forum poster at NeoGAF, and The Verge has verified it separately.

Xbox One without a disc drive rumored
The anonymous forum poster also claims Microsoft will release a white version of its Xbox One console in October alongside the launch of Sunset Overdrive. A 1TB version of the Xbox One is rumored for release a month later in November. The Verge can confirm Microsoft is indeed planning to release its white, employee-only Xbox One this year. Other rumors shared by the anonymous forum poster include the possibility of an Xbox One without a Blu-ray drive, a Bluetooth adapter, and launch dates for the console worldwide. While it's unclear if a disc-less Xbox One will make it to market, The Verge can also confirm Microsoft has been testing versions of its console without a Blu-ray drive."
My response, MS had already discussed the XB1 update in the last few weeks. No date but I suggest a thoughtful person could guess it was around this Spring.
The white employee model was also discussed in the past by MS and they responded favourably to the idea of releasing it. Why is it news MS might do that and why couldn't someone guess it.
We knew from previous MS discussions that they tested BD-less versions well before release. This one is very unlikely to happen.
The 360 had multiple versions. MS frequently upgraded the hard drive. It is not news to me that a 1TB version will be out for Christmas or that the existing model will also have a small price reduction. It's not news or even a good rumour.
Please read this CNET article. http://news.cnet.com/8301-10805_3-57618099-75/discless-xbox-one-would-be-amazing-but-too-radical-a-move-for-microsoft/
Getting back to the Halo rumours.
Halo 2 Anniversary + Halo Beta. Quite plausible and easily guessed Not confirmed by any reliable source..
Halo 3 port + Halo 4 port. Why? They're still easily playable on the 360.
Halo 5/next 2015. Why are people so adamant that the confirmed 2014 release is a lie?
If even one of the GAF leakers' guesses turn out to be correct, how does that turn them into a reliable source? I would suggest that if more than one leak proves false, the leakers should be derided until they leave the Internet in peace.
I choose not to be hyped by knowledge I already possess or could easily guess.
I choose not to be hyped by attention seeking Internet leak leeches.
Also, I suspect Louis Wu is getting cranky about this discussion so I promise, I'm out of it until the next round of massively stupid leaks.
