: I LOVE the maps, but I hated the game play. Weak shotguns, super swords, BXR,
: double shot, the BR to rule all other weapons, an SMG that shot skittles,
: etc.
: The memories of super bouncing and standby jerks - Oh god, the horror. :c
: If Halo 2 were to be redone, I'd want strictly campaign because there were
: areas that needed fixed graphically but thats about it.
: Halo 2 is the only game in the franchise where I didn't like the art style.
: The jump from how things looked in CE were not an improvement for me.
: I highly doubt we'd see a remake with Multiplayer because wouldn't that split
: the player base for Halo 5? :P
: Remakes need to not be a thing anymore (in general). I'd rather see new
: content, innovation and risks than replay the same over and over again.
: But hey, that's just me.
: [For what its worth, in CEA I was most happy for the ability to play co-op
: over live with a friend. Other than that, unnecessary. The graphics didn't
: need to change. Though, I don't think the CEA version of the Chief is too
: shabby looking. Oh, and the beefed up sniper sound was nice.]
I agree with a lot of what you just said. At the same time, the maps, in my opinion, were the best by far of any Halo game. Whether playing for fun, in customs, or super competitive, the multiplayer really works. Get rid of all the modding and standbying, clean up latency, and all of a sudden you have a pretty solid game.
Campaign gameplay had a lot of issues. Excellent story until H3 ruined it, in my opinion.
