Ok, I got what you're saying now :)
I still think you have to record at a higher rate so you can let it degrade well... and not let youtube have it's way with "quality standards". A low quality standard of your audience is no excuse to kill production value or your own quality standard.
I think that's why HBO has stored video libraries with decently high quality, so years from now they will still hold up.
