: No racing. No juggernaut. No assault. But Grifball is in Halo 4, better than
: ever.
: We're not sure why they chose Grifball, but it gives 343 a heck of a lot of
: goodwill from the Grifball community, since we know we might have faced
: the same fate as those other lost gametypes.
I think that's due to their working with Rooster Teeth and wanting to help promote them. I have no love of Grifball, as anyone who has played with me can vouch, but it was a clever use of the Assault Gametype that no one had really done before and I can appreciate that.
I think 343i also based this decision on the "popularity" of these gametypes in Matchmaking, which is stupid considering they ignored the massive population of custom game folks like CC, TSD, etc. the majority of my friends who do not play Halo 4 are the same friends who didn't like matchmaking and stuck to LANs or customs.
I agree with about 99.9% of Fyrewulff's post.
