: Halo 4 probably has a million plus fans. Something in Halo 4 appealed to
: them, but in the debates I've had with them, they usually play defensive.
: The most common rebuttal to the weak or terrible points in Halo 4 is
: "It didn't bother me all that much." HBO seems to be dying,
: either from one of our periodic dry spells or because Halo isn't as
: captivating as it used to be, or because 343i's detractors are whining,
: kvetching, and moaning too much.
: I want the community to be healthy, but it's going to require improvement on
: 343i's part, and less negativity on my part. I'll work on that.
I used to try to make Halo titles great/better/etc in my mind because I loved Halo 1 so much, but I've long since stopped doing that. I have some non-Halo games in my stack that I play regularly. Don't want to mention them because it's not really the point. They just keep me coming back. Halo 3, and to a small degree ODST, are the only Halo games after Halo 1 to do that for me.
Halo 4 is beautiful, and has some great points to it, but like most other Halo titles, just doesn't have what it takes to make me want to play it again/more. I'm betting that's true for many others. HBO's forum will obviously follow the enthusiasm of the game(s), so no surprise things are a little silent.
I have a talent for posting after a thread is long dead. We'll see if this remains true this round. : -)
