: I am writing you to express my intense displeasure regarding your decision to
: replace the venerable Assault Rifle with the Battle Rifle in your upcoming
: game, Halo 2. The Battle Rifle is clearly a concession to Counter Strike
: players who prefer more precision in their games and I find this catering
: to the non-Halo crowd to be insulting! I understand that the Assault Rifle
: couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and had no actual scope but that is
: what made it FUTURISTIC. The Battle Rifle is basically just an ordinary
: long-range gun based off of the M-16! Your creativity is really running
: out, I don't see this gun being very popular among the fans.

The first thing is that Halo has always had weapons that looked outdated. In the first game, it was the shotgun; people complained and called for a collapsible buttsock to be added in future games.

But that's not what we're complaining about here. Not really. We're just upset that the iconic and unusual is being replaced by the generic.

The other thing, and the one that made me write this post, is that anyone who thinks this:
