I am writing you to express my intense displeasure regarding your decision to replace the venerable Assault Rifle with the Battle Rifle in your upcoming game, Halo 2. The Battle Rifle is clearly a concession to Counter Strike players who prefer more precision in their games and I find this catering to the non-Halo crowd to be insulting! I understand that the Assault Rifle couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and had no actual scope but that is what made it FUTURISTIC. The Battle Rifle is basically just an ordinary long-range gun based off of the M-16! Your creativity is really running out, I don't see this gun being very popular among the fans.

To add insult to injury is your decision to add an SMG and a nerfed pistol with NO SCOPE. Really Bungie? These are affronts to common sense! Do you really think that a military 500 years in the future would really use these sorts of weapons? Clearly your desire to appeal to the "casual" crowd with your uninspired gun designs is causing you to lose sight of what Halo is really about: everything being the same as the last game.
