Wait wait wait. No no no. Read back dude.
My response, and our rebuttle, was to your comment that: "Nobody seriously shoots in black and white anymore"
NOT about why people choose to do so.
After which you started inserting opinions about quality and how well such a style can be used in order to be creative.
And "seriously" is an attempt at a no-true-scotsman argument, anyway.
The list of film is enough (not whether they were "artsy" or "good") and disproved your statement of "fact". Your followup statements about whether they were good or affording artistic abilities or whatever, again, just needed single examples in order to rebut it as fact. The creators of those films were obviously being creative and artistic within the medium, thus, your statement was wrong again.
This is not about how creative one can be in B&W vs colour, or what kinds of sounds. Merely in response to your 'fact' that "no one shoots" in B&W.
Of course there are more technical aspects of shooting film to make use of when you use colour; or imax; or 3d; or...or...or. No one denied that. But you made an incorrect factual statement (that some filmographers may find insulting) about shooting in Black & White.
THAT was the disagreement.
