For me, it's not that there are Spartan IVs and they're dudebros, it's that we no longer have the stoic IIs. All my favourite characters and character-types were abandoned in Halo 4, and from what we've seen thus far Halo 5 as well.
I personally wouldn't mind the Spartbro-Dudetans in the world and an element of the mythos, as long as we still had the older-style characters. Imagine a scene in which a group of IVs are joking and joshing around in a hanger, and across the way a (much smaller) group of IIs are quietly polishing guns/sharpening knives, or maybe playing a game of cards.
To see that direct separation acknowledged and addressed would do wonders for the state of the Halo universe right now. I feel like thus far, we've been told that the new IVs and their style are "how the spartans have always been, like, totally." Similar as to how so much of the Universe aesthetics were completely changed without an in-universe reason. I just want the old respected as they add the new.
