: Allowing the small tower sniper access from below totally changes the time it
: takes to get there; now, instead of going up and around, you can drop
: through the teleporter - it probably cuts 5 seconds off the grab time (and
: that time was crucial in lots of gametypes). Likewise, the shield in the
: middle... it totally kills the ability of snipers at small tower to pick
: off folks at big tower (well, left and center, at least). That's a pretty
: big change that messes with really common strategies.

: makes changes in how people assault that area, maybe in ways that aren't

I would imagine a switch to turn OFF the shield is at small tower as well. Now besides sniping between the two towers, we have to have people fighting over a light switch LOL. Could make for some interesting strategies, though. Overall I like these changes and if you DO NOT LIKE THEM, there is classic Ascension from Halo 2.
