: . . .
Harsh language?
What are you? A nun?
But yeah, anyway there was too much going on. It was too perfect. So perfect that it underscores how fake it is. The Halo Wars cinematics were as far as the acrobatics should have gone. That should have been the limit. They were still hulking giants, but moved with the grace I expected. These "spartans" look like a bunch of spidermen, and Nathan Fillion. And I don't care about Fillion at all, no matter how much they try to cram him in there.
"But Rev!" -someone says- "I know you love the extended universe and in the books, the Spartans move like how that cutscene played out. It's always been like this, we're just getting to see in in game for the first time"
To which I will reply, "No. It's different. Because in the books, it's me, myself, and my imagination. The words may be the same, but I guarantee you that how it looks in my head is 100% different than how it looks in your head. This over-engineered cutscene instead tells me how it should look which ruins it.
Taken at face value, it's cool if I want to shut off my brain. Except I shut off my brain for things I don't care about. I don't want to shut off my brain here, I want to do the opposite of that. "
If the transition from THAT to actual gameplay doesn't sync up (and I have a hard time thinking it will) then the immersion is lost. I'm suddenly less powerful when I'm in control.
I guess we'll see!
