No. This is the opening cutscene for Halo 5. Frankie confirmed that there's more talky bits before the action, but this action sausage is going to be in the final game.
: It reminded me a lot of the opening to Avengers 2, which was ridiculous. When
: your characters are doing impossible things and outrageous stunts, you
: never really feel like there's any danger.
Yup.
About halfway through that fight scene, my ability to care about the outcome faded away. Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, I have no problem believing that they could wade through whatever the HYDRA base could scramble at the last moment. The rest of the team is...eh. The Hydra mooks were so pathetic, I kept waiting for some trick or gambit to show that HYDRA did plan for when the Avengers came knocking. When the mad scientist asked if they could hold the enemy off and the reply was "Sir, it's the Avengers," I distinctly recall thinking "You guys aren't putting up much of a fight."
There's a way to make the deaths of countless mooks at the hands of our noble heroes entertaining to watch. The Lord of the Rings trilogy managed to pull it off in the latter two movies. The Avengers movies have failed pretty hard at this, particularly the first one. I mean, I'm still not convinced that the... the Chitauri? That the Chitauri could've successfully invaded New York City, let alone the whole planet.
Copying the opening fight of Age of Ultron when said fight was choppy, hard to follow, and largely failed to make the Avengers look badass was a mistake.
: When the MC did something in
: the first Halo, it had some weight to it because he wasn't a badass that
: could just do crazy shit. They might as well have given Locke and Buck a
: skyboard and do tricks and shit on the way down, because that's the tone
: I got. :-/
Yup.
: It's just a trailer though. I'm completely open when it comes to the game.
It's a cutscene. You'll be capturing it in a few months in all it's high definition glory.
