But aren't those things what makes us all unique and individuals? I understand not wanting something crammed down your throat, but a ladies man style character needs to occasionally make snide comments, etc. to convey that type of trait.

Characters do not require sex appeal to be unique. I agree with you on that, but I also think that it doesn't need to be removed entirely. Sex and apperances are realism and I think that, in moderation, they add depth to the universe.
