Believe it or not, players do get alienated by haing to play as someone of the oposite sex. If they can't relate to the character then they just don't feel as involved with him/her. Some players just want the "average joe/jane". Someone that couldn't pass off as a super model.

As for my statement about Samus' sexurality and beauty being shoved in player's faces, i wasn't talking about the end ofthe first game. I'm refuring to the marketing of the games as well as her pertrayal in other games, like Smash Bros.

Yes it pushed me away (well that plus some of the gameplay). But it also pushed other player away. What? Do you think i only have conersations with Halo players or something? I was a die hard Nintendo fan long before i was a Halo fan. And other players have in deed told me that it pushed them awau from Metroid and other games. And i'm not just refuring to female leads either. You have no reason to assume i was just talking about myself. If I was, then I would have stated so. I used the word 'players' for a reason.

Why are you bringing a "elderly unattractive Eskimo" into this? You know, full well, that such a character would not make a lick of sense in the role of Samus. It certainly wouldn't have hurt anything if Samus dudn't always look like a super model with perfect hair. No o e that goes to war looks like that all the time. The problem is that sex sells. Reguardless of how many players it alienates. And once again, I WAS SPEAKING FOR OTHERS and not just myself. I've explained this above. They, to the best of my knowledge, are not part of these forums and thus can not speak for themselves. Thus I'm speaking for them, based on what THEY told me.

When a group of fruends have that, they tend to share what ills them.

Don't twust my words. I never said that I didn't like Samus, nor did I state that I don't like female protagonists. In fact, I love them. All I said that I have (and others you may not know) have a hard time relating to them.just as female gamers have a hard time relating to male characters.

Good for you. But not everyone shares your view. But I agree. Other M was absolutely terrible. Don't lnow what they were thinking with that game.

I have no issue with that. I WAS speaking for myself AND others. Why do you seem to be obsessed with knowing who shares my views on this? They have not given me permussion to share their contact info. So why would I do so? Espeacially with someone that can't seem to accept the fact that more then one person may share similar views?
