You know, after all this time... Halo 2 doesn't feel that special to me.
First off, Halo: CE wasn't perfect, but it very polished and well-put together.
Halo 2 feels rushed in a lot of places, and it could probably benefit from upgrades. Graphical, animations, gameplay...
But honestly, we don't need to retread old ground. We don't need it.
How about a game that imitates Halo 2's gameplay, but tells a sidestory? A game that parallels the Arbiter's and the Chief's journey, but doesn't revisit it.
Some of the Halo 2 cinematics just demand a big blockbuster visual upgrade. Not an overhaul, upgrade. Remember the opening cutscene of Halo 4? The cuts to Covenant invasions? Imagine Regret's assault carrier jumping into slipspace, rendered in that same detail. Or the encounter with Gravemind.
That said, why can't those moments be relegated to the terminals in a spinoff game?
