Well, yes, but it's easy to say that 343i writers aren't very good. We've been saying it for over a year now. I could pull up examples, like Josh Holmes not knowing that the sentence "He's a badass alien who wants to destroy Humanity" doesn't contain a shred of character motivation.
There's other problems with 343i's management of the Halo universe, and at this point I think it's far more productive to focus on topics other than "Bad writing" and "Greeble cancer".
